The Super Mystere began with the Dassault Ouragan and progressed through the Mystere II/III and Mystere IV. The Super Mystere could exceed the speed of sound in level flight. This was achieved thanks to the new thin wing with 45° and the use of an afterburner-equipped turbojet engine.When the Yom Kippur War broke out on October 6th 1973, the Sa'ars went into action on both the Syrian and Egyptian fronts to halt the invading Arab armies.
