Hataka Hobby CS03 Lacquer Paint Set - Late Luftwaffe (6 x 17ml)
1944 was the year of introduction of several new camouflage colours for all Luftwaffe aircraft. RLM 83 introduced in the first half of 1944 was most probably a replacement of RLM 74 in previous 74/75/76 scheme, as simplified 75/76 pattern proved not effective for ground concealment from air attacks. RLM 81/82/76 (with lower surfaces left in bare metal where possible) became an official pattern from August 1944. At least till end of the year RLM 83 (due to austerity reasons finally not included in the official scheme) was still widely used for mottling over other colours. In order to use up the current stocks of formerly used paints, basic schemes applied in real life included RLM 75/81/76, 75/82/76, 75/83/76, 82/83/76 and 81/83/76.
Contains the following colours (lacquer based paints, optimised for use with airbrush):
HTK-C007 - Grey-Violet (RLM75) - Used from early 1941 for upper surfaces in 74/75/76 scheme. Later with RLM 83 and eventually with RLM 81 or 82
HTK-C008 - Brown-Violet (RLM81) - Used from August 1944 for upper surfaces in late-war camouflage schemes of all types of Luftwaffe aircraft
HTK-C020 - Light Green (RLM82) - Used from August 1944 for upper surfaces in late-war camouflage schemes of all types of Luftwaffe aircraft
HTK-C022 - Dark Green (RLM83) - Introduced in the first half of 1944 as a replacement of RLM 74. Later used for mottling over 81/82/76 schemes
HTK-C038 - Light Blue (RLM76) - Used from early 1941 for lower surfaces and fuselage sides first in 74/75/76 and after mid-1944 in 81/82/76 schemes
HTK-C040 - Black-Grey (RLM66) - Standard colour of instrument panels and cockpit areas visible from outside (anti-glare function) throughout the war
