AFV Club AF35100 1/35 RAAC Australian Centurion Mk.5/1 Vietnam War

I have just bought this kit and I haven't assembled it yet but I'm very impressed. It includes a metal barrel for the main gun and for the 0.50in MG mounted in the turret, working suspension and rubber tyres for the main road wheels. The quality of the moulded plastic parts looks good and there is a lot of fine detail. This is unusual in 1/35 scale. The price at $64.50 is cheaper than similar Tamiya kits and I would say it beats Tamiya's quality. The instructions are A4 size, black and white, no colour, with finely drawn illustrations. The cardboard box is good and strong, better than average, and the box art looks good. The subject is particularly relevant to us here in Oz, even more so if like me you are old enough to remember the Vietnam War. This will make a good project over the summer. Let's see if I'm still impressed after putting it together. I can't yet speak about how good the instructions are, parts fit, tracks or decal quality.
