Hornet HUH04 1/35 5x Heads with US M1 Helmets with Netting (used by many nations)

When I first bought this set and the one which came without netting, I was impressed but the longer I had them and had a couple of sets of heads from Alpine Minatures which made easy to compare them side by side, I realized that the Hornet heads were shaped more like liners than the separate steel shell. Don't worry though, if you are familiar with the 1960s series COMBAT! the main actor Vic Morrow did not like the way that the shell got hot in the lights used to light the scene, so he insisted that he wear the liner only, covered by the rare camouflage helmet cover. If you will notice in the reruns, the helmet has only the leather strap from the liner but not the wide canvas strap that GIs used to fasten together at the rear of the helmet, so, knowing that, I just thought of the Hornet Heads to have precedent to go by. Anyway, the faces on these are very expressive and the set provides faces of 18 year olds as well as older young men. If what I wrote above bothers you, you can alway attach some of the excellent leaves set with stems to cover the "mistakes", so don't let this stop you from buying this set. Overall it is excellent and the easy fix is why I give it a 5 star rating!
