DN Models 32-827-076 1/32 B-17G Flying Fortress Yellow Tails Insignia Paint Mask Set
Suggested scale: 1/32
Three versions included:
"Fuddy Duddy" - #44-83563 #42-97400 - USAAF 708 BS, 447 BG, 8 AF
"Chuckie" - #44-8543 - USAAF 832BS, 486 BG, 8 AF
"D-Day Doll" - #43-37544 - USAAF 710 BS, 447 BG, 8 AF
Re-usable die-cut mask set
The set includes three sheets of pre-cut masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn't leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semi-transparent for easy and accurate placing.
Yellow Tails
paint mask set is designed to be used with a 32nd scale B-17 Flying Fortress. It is dedicated to /arguably/ the most colorful and vivid line of B-17 Flying Fortresses - the Yellow Tails of the Eighth Air Force - which were used throughout the war in tens, maybe even hundreds of variations. Due to the specifics when painting bright colors like yellow, white and red, careful consideration of the process is required before starting the paint procedure. The mask set should be accompanied by specific small and intricate parts of the insignia, which are available as decals.
B-17 Flying Fortress
availability in 32nd scale is quite limited, due to the enormous size and weight of the completed aircraft. However, the large surfaces of the bomber are best represented with painted insignia, just as in real life. Decal application is not recommended, due to silvering and additional flaws of the decals. Their basic design is best suited for smaller scales, especially when working with colorful and large insignia as the ones used in Second World War and Vietnam. This paint mask set features most of the insignia elements, but not everything. Additional decals and/or masking might be required.
