Italeri 1434 1/72 McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom FG.1
This is a plastic model kit, which comes unassembled and unpainted. So glue, model paints and other basic modelling tools are additionally required.
Developed by the American aircraft company McDonnell Douglas, the F-4 Phantom II is a tandem two-seat, all weather, supersonic fighter-bomber. It entered service during the sixties and it is one of the most famous planes of military aviation history. From the 60s to the 80s it was widely used by the United Kingdom and was produced in numerous dedicated versions, to serve both the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force performing air defence, close support, ground attack and reconnaissance tasks. The Royal Navy started to use the Phantom in 1964 to replace the obsolete Sea Vixen with the specific duty to guarantee the fleet air defence and with the intention to have the capability to operate from the decks of the British aircraft carriers. Very similar to the versions produced in the United States, the Phantom FG.1 and FGR.2, produced in Great Britain, were characterized by the adoption of Rolls-Royce Spey engines instead of the American GE J79.
