TopNotch 48-M205 1/48 Royal Navy FAA Vought F4U Corsair Camo Masks
In November 1943, the Royal Navy received its first batch of 95 Vought F4U-1s designation "Corsair Mark I". The Royal Navy put the Corsair into carrier operations immediately. They found its landing characteristics dangerous. he Royal Navy developed a number of modifications that made carrier landings more practical.
Among these were a bulged canopy, raising the pilot's seat amongst other and using a curved approach for landing. In Royal Navy service, because of the limited hangar deck height in several classes of British carrier, many Corsairs had their outer wings "clipped by 8 in (200 mm) to clear the deckhead.
This set includes only the camouflage pattern. Serial numbers, code letters and other markings are not included.
